Sunday the 3rd of October 2004 was
the date for our Rav get together
at the Roma Street Parklands in Brisbane.
1pm was the get together time and
by 1.30pm we had three eager Rav owners
there and the other arrived at about
2.30pm. Those that made the venture
into the 'big smoke' was myself (aka
Offroader), and my beautiful wife;
Ron (aka ReThXeHd); Paul (aka Paul...hehehe)
and Daniel (Ravious).
It
was a hot day and we met in the lower
carpark of the Roma Street Parklands.
A few cold drinks and a good chat
to get to know each other was had
and then we had a look over everyone's
Rav's to check out the mods. ReThXeHd
has a wild set of 18" alloys
on his ride and a great GPS. We had
a good look at it and it's more or
less a fantastic little UBD that talks
to you. No point me having one, I
know when i'm lost, hey I'm a man,
I don't need to ask for directions

| Pauls
Rav is a well maintained SWB Rav with
a host of TRD and Toms Racing stuff
on it. A wild body kit and alloys make
for a great ride. Paul reckons its a
bit quieter now with some exhaust mods,
so the neighbors are happy again!
Ravious's
ride is also a prime example of what
can be achieved with some mods I would
call the "BP Mods" - the
quiet achiever. It has some discreet
LED's in the parkers and colored bulbs
in the fog lights and indicators and
even has reverse warning beepers,
man he has been busy. It also has
fantastic alloy wheels which really
add to the overall appearance of the
car, great ride man........

led the way into the city, with the
rest of us following in near-perfect
convoy, and Andrew ensuring all of us
kept in line. Both John and ANdrew had
Mine
is a CV model, the garden variety fitted
with a few off road goodies such as
ARB raised suspension, nudge bar and
spotties, UHF and AM CB radio, not to
mention the BF Goodrich all terrain
tyres. We are heading off to Fraser
island in November, so that will be
its maiden voyage onto the beach, fingers
crossed we go okay. Shark
and Alex were going to make it but
got held up and couldn't get down
in time. Bad luck guys, hope to see
you at the next run in late November.
Once
we all had a good look over the cars
and knew each other a bit better,
we made some plans for the next meet.
In late November, we are planning
to do the beach run from Rainbow Beach
to Noosa. We will stop off at the
Cherry Venture (a shipwreck on the
beach) and have a game of beach cricket
(an Aussie tradition) and a BBQ lunch
somewhere. We hope to have a few more
than 4 Rav's there next time.
Until
next time, keep the shiny side UP
!!!!
